- Abstract
The article focuses on the difference between quasi-judicial activities and extra-judicial activities in the U.S. The objectives of new standards of judicial conduct include the standards should ensure that the justice is facilitated and that the judges are not isolated from the communities. Several issues involving the judiciary and judicial administration that should be considered in defining the permissible limits for non-judicial activities include the selection of judges, judicial pay scales, overcrowded calendars and the lack of respect for the courts. A resolution was adopted by the Judicial Conference on June 10, 1969 which prohibited the acceptance of compensation for non-judicial services.
