- Authors
AMES, EDWARD
- Abstract
The article focuses on the implications of state transactions in gold and foreign exchange. It discusses government foreign exchange transaction, price-support operations, foreign exchange controls and foreign exchange assets. It is stated there are problems of deciding the exact consequences of any particular rule which a state may set forth governing its operations in gold and foreign exchange. It is concluded that the commitment to maintain a stable exchange rate and the need for foreign exchange is closely connected with the entire course of a country's internal economic process.
