- Abstract
The article discusses the issue of war damage and nationalizaion in Eastern Europe. As mentioned, Eastern Europe has experienced the fastest evolution in economic form five years after the World War II ending in 1945. Several Eastern European countries including Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Yugoslavia have shifted from capitalistic to communistic economies. As stated, the legal, economic or political aspects of war damage to property cannot be fully isolated or considered in a vacuum. As mentioned, compensation may be rejected by governments in the face of compulsions to adopt alternative solutions. As mentioned, Poland and Czechoslovakia quickly recognized the oneness of property rights, political orientation and economic planning.
