- Abstract
The aim of the research is to determine whether the practices “values education through creative drama” prepared for pre-school children is effective. In this study, the effect of creative drama on preschool students for awareness of love respect, responsibility, cooperation, sharing, cleanliness, patience, confidence, honesty, industriousness and equality is studied. The study is carried out with totally 16 children (aged 5-6). The creative drama activities which are prepared for the values education are put into practice as one hour totally in 18 sessions. In this research, “The values education by using creative drama in preschool period rating scale” which is prepared by the researcher is used as a tool of gathering data. To see if there is a significant difference between the scores that children get before and after applying the rating scale, Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test is used. The result of analysis shows that there is a significant difference between the scores that children get before and after applying the values education rating scale (z=3.41, p<.01). When gap analysis’ mean rank and total are taken into consideration, it is seen that the difference is in favour of the final test. According to these results, it can be said that the curriculum applied is highly effective on the children’s values education marks. As a result, the data show that creative drama method is highly effective on children’s getting values education.
