The purposes of this paper are twofold. The first is to indicate that fixed point theorems, for single maps, or pairs of maps, defined on metric spaces, remain true for dislocated metric (d-metric) spaces, and that fixed point theorems for weakly compatible maps on d-spaces, are actually special cases of a general theorem on dislocated quasi-metric spaces (dq spaces).
