- Abstract
The anthology "German Studies in Latin America - Developments and Trends" provides a comprehensive overview of German studies in Latin America. The contributions address topics such as the adaptation of German language programs at Brazilian universities, the professional training of German teachers in Rio de Janeiro, and the connection between teacher education and German instruction in the North and Northeast of Brazil. The authors employ various methodological approaches to analyze the development of German studies in Brazil. Ullrich's contribution examines the German language and culture in Bolivia and emphasizes the importance of integrating the German language into the Bolivian education system. The editors' afterword summarizes the discussions on German studies in eleven Latin American countries and emphasizes the importance of networking and identifying trends. The anthology provides a solid foundation for future research aimed at improving teacher education and strengthening the German language in Latin America.
