- Abstract
The article reports that mental hospital Gogarbum became the first major learning disability institution to close in Scotland. The hospital sets to target other health authorities to follow suit in 2005. According to the report, the Gogarbum's closure is due to the failure to involve service users and nurses. Meanwhile, a genuine effort of the hospital to be more inclusive with the new strategy being sought to reflect the changed needs of a different population of service users.
