- Abstract
Tensile and conductivity of cotton silver-plated spandex core-spun yarn were studied. Surface of spandex was modified by dopamine and silane coupling agent in tensile state. The silver-plated spandex was prepared by chemical coating method. C/Pu 14.6 tex (44.4 dtex) cotton silver-plated spandex core-spun yarn was spun. Microstructure of silver-plated spandex was characterized, tensile elasticity and conductivity of cotton silver-plated spandex core-spun yarn were tested. The results showed that there was a thin film of silver particles on the surface of spandex. The average resistivity of silver-plated spandex under natural elongation was 0.010 4 Q・cm, the average resistivity of silver-plated spandex was 0.032 2 Q・cm when it was stretched two times as the original length. The tensile of cotton silver-plated spandex core-spun yarn could be reached 1.24 times, the average resistivity before and after stretching was 0.049 0 Q・cm and 0.148 0 Q・cm respectively. The resistivity fluctuation range was small. When cotton silver-plated spandex core-spun yarn was slowly bent on the glove surface, electrical signal image showed a downward trend. When it was naturally stretched, the electrical signal showed stable state. After cyclic bending for 36 times within 120 s, the electrical signal changed regularly and still had stable electrical signal output. It is considered that cotton silver plated spandex core-spun yarn has better tensile elasticity, conductive durability and cyclic stability. In the process of preparation, silver particles are easy to fall off and be oxidized, which should be further improved.
