- Abstract
The article presents a consensus statement on the influence of race, ethnicity and culture on childhood obesity developed by participants in a conference held by Shaping America's Health and the Obesity Society on April 9-11, 2008. They tackled the prevalence, severity and consequences of childhood obesity across race/ethnicity in the U.S. They also discussed the biological and cultural factors associated with racial/ethnic differences in childhood obesity.
