- Abstract
This article discusses a case of Staphylococcus pasteuri, a type of bacteria, being isolated in an extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) product used to treat a patient with Graft Versus Host Disease (GVHD). The patient did not show any signs of infection other than conjunctivitis and chalazion of the left eye. The bacteria was resistant to certain antibiotics and showed intermediate sensitivity to another. The article highlights the importance of identifying possible contamination sources and emphasizes that even minor infections can lead to contamination of the ECP product.
