- Abstract
The article summarizes a study of Jodi Price and colleagues related to the effects of prolonged summer flooding on the weeds of Gwydir Wetlands, New South Wales. The result of the study indicates that the prolonged summer flooding of 1990s, declined the growth of the invasive weed Lippia (Phyla canescens) whereas increased growth was seen in native species, Tall spike-rush. The authors also observed that a winter flood in the Macquarie Marshes did not result in the expansion of Lippia cover.
