- Abstract
This article advises best-practice tax departments at U.S. companies to cooperate with each other or integrate their tax operations, particularly on property tax and indirect tax. The estimated annual cost of sales tax and value-added tax to businesses is over 327,000 U.S. dollars, according to a report from Tallman Insights. Particular focus is given to the tax requirements facing the average mid-sized business in the U.S., along with steps involved in complying with property tax laws. It describes some typical scenarios in which property tax and indirect tax should work together. It notes the impact of a lack of streamlined communication regarding tax management on compliance cost.
