- Abstract
This article, published in the journal Colorectal Disease, discusses the use of externally introduced grasping devices during endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for treating lesions in the colon and rectum. ESD is a technically demanding procedure, and the training of novice proceduralists can be challenging due to the risk of perforation and lack of traction. The authors present a video vignette of two cases where externally introduced grasping devices were used to facilitate traction and dissection during ESD. The procedures were completed without complications, and the use of these devices may decrease procedure time and simplify the learning curve.
