Abstract
The article reports that a logging boat owned by the logging company Sodefor sank on Lake Mai Ndombe in Bandundu province, Democratic Republic of Congo on November 25, 2009 due to bad weather. It mentions that roads outside DR Congo are almost non-existent and travels are limited to aircraft and boats. It states that accidents are common in the area because of lack of maintenance, overloading, and loose enforcement of safety standards.
