- Abstract
The article discusses findings of autonomous underwater vehicle exploration of the ocean cavity beneath an Antarctic ice shelf focusing on the Pine Island Glacier (PIG) in Amundsen Sea, Antarctica. It relates the rise of the global mean sea level due to the mass loss from the Antarctic Ice Sheet. It describes the growth in the submarine melting of PIG based on observations aboard the research vessel, Nathaniel B. Palmer.
