- Abstract
The article compares Canadian poet Hector de Saint-Denys Garneau's works with Canadian painter Paul-Émile Borduas' artwork. The author explains that Saint-Denys Garneau also liked to paint, and wrote about his paintings. Both artists were influenced by American painter John Lyman's art. As noted, the poet's destiny resounded in Borduas for a long time. Touched by the artistic end of Saint-Denys Garneau, the painter feared the end of his career before the end of his life. Borduas tried all his life to keep the tragedy out of his life.
