- Abstract
A virtual learning environment (hereinafter referred to as the VLE) Moodle is an analysis. The functionality of the VLE tools is overviewed. Standard environmental tools are distinguished according to the criteria for the standardization of tools. Standard tools are sufficient to prepare an e-learning course. The activity records of the e-learning course used in 2010 and 2011 are collected. The information is divided to clusters by years, then by the frequencies of using of the tools. The comparative cluster analysis showed that students' activity in the VLE during the 2011 increased by 50.94%. The quiz was the most used tool and its use increased by 21,95%. The forum was the most popular tool. The students activity in 2010 and 2011 years were correlated, they were the most active in September, October and November and at the beginning of the session. Survey, forum, course participant review, course and theoretical material review as well as task tools were used the most intensively from 8 o'clock to 20 o'clock. The use of VLE blog increased. The comparative analysis of 2010 and 2011 years study habits shows, that a course overview was often used as a tool in the night hours, and student's activity almost uniformly decreased till 5 o'clock. Teachers usually used a tool set correlated with the set of tools the most commonly used by students. The course editing tool was the most commonly used by teachers.
