- Authors
Rajan, Tilottama
- Abstract
A literary criticism is presented analyzing the treatment of the philosophical issue of judgment within the 18th-century political novel "Things As They Are; Or, The Adventures of Caleb Williams," by William Godwin. Connections are made between Godwin's novels and his philosophical-political treatises, particularly his "Enquiry Concerning Political Justice." Further analysis is given to Godwin's later works such as "Fleetwood," and "Mandeville."
