- Abstract
The article focuses on the role of sleep investigations in the prevention of combat stress-related brain atrophy. It states that returnees from current war operations commonly suffer posttraumatic stress disorder and chronic stress. Meanwhile, it examines the neurobiological background of chronic stress among combat veterans with brain atrophy. Moreover, the role of sleep studies in the prevention and early detection of delayed chronic stress related effects is offered.
