- Authors
Possenti, Ilaria
- Abstract
The article focuses on political theorist Hannah Arendt, who had been concerned on the experience of philosopher Socrates, philosopher Plato's view on education of philosophers, and critical thinking. It mentions the article "Philosophy and Politics," in which Arendt considers the trial of Socrates as the start of a philosophical tradition that is grounded on the conflict between politics and philosophy. Arendt notes that the myth of the cave presented in Plato's "Republic" Book VII offers his biography. It adds that Arendt's philosophy attempts to elaborate the significance of critical thought in political judgment.
