- Abstract
The writing is generally divided into five sections: curating and the archive; intersectional practices and collaborations; the role of feminist methods and principles in political engagement; feminist insistence on the somatic and emotional; and embodied gender difference. The need to consider the feminist legacy in the "expanded field" also necessitates the preservation of such histories via the feminist archive, or actions of feminist archiving, as Julie Ewington discusses in her essay "The Value of Maturity: Anne Ferran, Judith Wright, Lindy Lee." This is a challenge particular to organizing an anthology, but by embracing the openness of feminist perspectives, with an emphasis on the plural, the editors have compiled a strategic and much needed intervention into North American and European-centric feminist practice. I Feminist Perspectives on Art i is braced through with moving stories, ones that continue feminist discussions of feminist perspectives in art historical, theoretical, and creative practices.
