- Abstract
The article discusses the lack of benefit of high-dose vitamin C, thiamine and hydrocortisone combination for treatment of patients with sepsis and septic shock. Topics include the limitation of the trial such as lack of blinding and moderate sample size, failure to demonstrate the causal path between vitamin deficiency and adverse outcome from sepsis, and the ineffectiveness of vitamin C and thiamine due to the absence of any benefit in outcomes including mortality.
