The article discusses issues related to better use of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the end of life. Topics discussed include arguments for and against intensive care at the end of life and proposes five strategies to help ensure the delivery of appropriate and optimal patient-centered care for patients at high risk of death or severe disability, issues related to better use of the ICU at the end of life and reevaluating goals of care during the ICU stay.
