- Title
Should C Be a Passing Grade for the USPSTF?
- Authors
Saver, Barry G.
- Abstract
The article assesses decision of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) to issue recommendations with a C grade for various health care services. The author notes that while most recommendations are noncontroversial, the C-grade for mammography for women should be revisited based on several issues including the politicized decision making in cancer screening and treatment, the limitation of shared decision-making and case wherein patients are not consulted.
