- Abstract
The article profiles Juliet Vickery, an outstanding modern ornithologist and winner of the British Ornithologists' Union Ibis Award. Vickery combines good science with practical applications and combines this to a wide non-specialist audience. She was born in 1963 and graduated with honors from Oxford University in 1984. Her research has been diverse, focusing on behavioral ecology and bird conservation. She is also active in the wider scientific conservation community. In addition, Vickery is a member of the Council of the British Ecological Society.
