- Abstract
A biography of White saxophonist Art Pepper is presented. He was born on September 1, 1925 in Los Angeles, California. It relates that Art had exhibited his musical prowess as early at age nine when he studied clarinet lessons. It details the personalities who influenced Art in his career and the racial concept he has borne as he exhibits an exemplar of "equality" in his own music. The concept of Art sprang up from his experience as a prisoner in one of the most significant turns of his life.
