- Abstract
Due to the material limitations, when measuring high-temperature strain above 500 ℃, the thermal expansion of substrate materials usually causes fracture of, so the applications of fiber Bragg grating in high-temperature environment is limited. In order to address this problem, a high temperature strain measurement idea of providing redundant fiber for fiber Bragg grating is proposed, and the control method and technology of redundant fiber are explored. By setting up a high temperature strain test platform, the redundant optical fiber control method is verified by experiments. The experimental results show that the fiber Bragg grating encapsulated by this method can realize strain measurement at 500~1000℃, and shows good linearity during strain measurement, the correlation coefficient is over 0.999, and the strain sensitivity is 1.44 pm/με. The redundant fiber has the same performance as that at room temperature. The method is simple and reproducible, which greatly improves the range of high temperature strain measurement of fiber grating, and has a good application prospects.
