- Abstract
The article focuses on a study conducted by researchers from India to explore the possibility of enhancing stress tolerance in crops by increasing the expression of antioxidant enzymes. Using Chlamydomonas reinhardtii as a model system, they successfully inserted genes from pearl millet associated with stress tolerance into the algae, demonstrating increased resilience to multiple stresses, suggesting a potential method for breeding stress-resistant crops in agriculture.
