- Abstract
The author traces the genealogy of his paternal great uncles Eugene and Edward Germain in Los Angeles, California. Eugene was the president of his company, Germain Fruit, and he directed the organization from the offices and stores in 1878. The author notes that Eugene's family was prominent in the city's community. Meanwhile, Edward worked for his brother, who was then established in the grocery business. In 1885, he became a partner of Henry S. Baer, who had established himself as a liquor dealer. Moreover, Edward married Emily Kremer, daughter of Maurice and Matilda Newmark Kremer.
