- Abstract
The article presents a reprint of a letter written by Benzion Greenberg, an immigrant farmer in the Jewish agricultural colony in Chananel, North Dakota, which appeared in the book "Jewish Agricultural Utopias in America, 1880-1910," by Uri D. Herscher. The letter, which was addressed "American Hebrew" editor Philip Cowen in April 1897, tells about Greenberg's labors in his farm and how he eked out to make a fine living without taking any assistance from anybody after two years of drought.
