The article reports on an eighth-grade teacher who provided his students from rural Appalachia in the U.S. with the opportunity to create multimedia character analyses. Topics discussed include the positive outcomes of engaging students in projects involving audiovisual character analyses, how these analyses motivated students to expand their sophistication with digital world applications, and how they can use this knowledge in their 21st-century workplaces.
