- Abstract
The article focuses on the interpretation and enforceability of indemnity provisions in maritime contracts. It includes fundamental principles of admiralty law under the maritime and admiralty jurisdiction of the U.S. It presents a step-by-step method of analysis of indemnity provisions in contracts and provides a road map of considerations that should be regarded while drafting such indemnity provisions. It also discusses the U.S. court case DeLovio v. Boit related to maritime provisions.
