- Authors
Redman, Colvin M.; Lee, Soohee
- Abstract
The author discusses historical perspective of the kell blood group and informs that it was introduced to the Kell blood group by the Director of the Immunohematology Laboratory Laurie Marsh in the U.S. He informs the association of Kx and Kell antigen states with the McLeod syndrome and it was characterized on Red Blood Cells (RBCs) by acanthocytosis. He reports use of the human alloimmune anti-Kx serum, which has determined that Kx antigen resides on a protein of approximately 37,000 Dalton.
