PSYCHIATRIC DIAGNOSES AND TREATMENT SEEKING IN COLLEGE STUDENTS: FINDINGS FROM THE NESARC.
- Authors
L. S.
- Abstract
The article focuses on a study conducted by Carlos Blanco and colleagues at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City, which evaluates the differences in 1-year prevalence of psychiatric disorders, sociodemographic correlates, and rates of treatment in U.S. college students, compared to non-college-attending peers for at least the previous year. It references a study published in the 2008 issue of the "Archives General Psychiatry" periodical. It notes that diagnosis of a drug use disorder was less likely to occur in college students.
