- Title
Renin secretion responsiveness: Understanding the efficacy of renin-angiotensin inhibition.
- Authors
Brunner, Hans R.; Waeber, Bernard; Nussberger, Jürg
- Abstract
Focuses on the use of antagonists of physiologic systems involved in blood pressure regulation to expose the mechanisms involved in the maintenance of hypertension. Detection of a significant role of the renin system in blood pressure maintenance; Hypothesis on the possible reduction of blood pressure by blocking the renin-angiotensin system; Usefulness of angiotensin II to counteract high renin secretion and any type of renin response to antihypertensive therapy.
