- Abstract
The article discusses the legal aspects of biobanking, privacy rights, and the regulation of biomedical research in the U.S. as of 2016, and it mentions the guidelines for sharing biological samples and health information in America. Technological innovations are addressed in relation to the creation and storage of personal- and health-related data. The internal governance of biobanks is examined, along with informed consent and confidentiality and human subjects protections.
