- Abstract
The article reports on the emergence of modern absorbents which are proven to be more cost effective to handle oil spills than clay. It highlights some companies which introduced new absorbent products including Cumberland, Rhode Island-based Chemtex Inc., Tipton, Pennsylvania-based New Pig Corp., and Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based Sellars Co. According to Chemtex president Lenny Johnson, the use of these new products are not just cost efficient to companies, they are safe as well.
