- Title
Air Canada Pilots Must Remove Mandatory Retirement Provision From Collective Agreement.
- Authors
Hart, Aaron
- Abstract
This article announces the success of two Air Canada pilots in challenging the provision of a mandatory retirement at the age of 60 before the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal. The complainants were forced to retire from their positions as pilots of Air Canada when they turned 60. This case is said to be of interest to unionized workplaces and pension plans that have mandatory retirement ages or to those facing claims of discrimination based on age.
