- Abstract
The article focuses on the range of sensitive spray-on polymers than can detect explosives down to a trillionth of a gram that was developed by U.S. scientists William Trogler and Jason Sanchez at the University of California in San Diego. It states that Trogler and Sanchez created a series of silafluorene-fluorene copolymers that can detect explosives such as TNT, HMX and Tetryl and plastic explosives like C-4. It mentions that the polymers developed by Trogler are now being commercially produced by U.S. security company RedXDefense.
