- Title
Could you be sued for a missed breast cancer diagnosis?
- Authors
RYAN III, DANIEL E.; BROWN, MICHELE D.
- Abstract
The article presents practical advice to obstetricians/gynecologists on how to lower the risks of facing malpractice lawsuits resulting from delayed or missed breast cancer diagnosis. It says good clinical practice and proper documentation of patients' records must be done by the physician's clinic. Also, acknowledgment and waiver forms filled up by patients after every visit will prove helpful. The authors add that proper channeling and documentation of communication among all health providers involved in treating the patient must be facilitated.
