- Abstract
The article discusses the results of a study which examined the anti-inflammatory effects of Changkil saponins on Carrageenan-induced inflammation. The saponins were derived from the roots of Platycodon grandiflorum. The study found that the saponins reduced the cyclooxygenase-2 expression level in exudate cells. The saponins significantly reduced the paw edema induced by carrageenan. It also reduced the level of prostaglandin E2.
