- Title
How to Negotiate a Professional Contract: Don't Sign Yet.
- Authors
Lapidus, Jerry
- Abstract
The article offers tips on how theatrical performers can negotiate a professional contract offered by an employer in the U.S. It suggests that they should negotiate any extras when signing a union contract because it is a minimum agreement only. It recommends that they should understand the contract and read a copy of the applicable union rule book. It proposes that they should ask about on-site transportation and request a round-trip ticket when negotiating out-of-town jobs.
