- Abstract
The article discusses the broader struggle between Christians and Muslims as shown in the strange relationships between fictional characters, Harry and Amurath, in the theatrical productions "2 Henry IV" and "Henry V" by William Shakespeare. It also cites Shakespeare's play "Richard II" where the sacred and liturgical conception of kingship is presented. It also presents the "The Battle of Alcazar," by George Peele as the basis for the writing of "2 Henry IV."
