- Abstract
The article discusses a study on Chemical Engineering (ChE) student demographics and outcomes, using critical race theory framework and considering intersectionality of race/ethnicity and gender, that found the likelihood of more than twice of women of all races/ethnicities choosing ChE. Findings discussed include rates for ChE starters graduating in ChE to be comparable to or above population average, and difference in ChE trajectories by race/ethnicity but not with gender.
