- Title
Cross-references That Make Me Cross.
- Authors
Zafran, Enid
- Abstract
The article discusses the author's experience of adding, revising, and adjusting entries for a new material. She came across with an old-style of indexing and cross-referencing that is different from her approach such as cross-references attached to the main heading, and the use of commas in the main heading which often results to confusion. She illustrated her style of indexing as a point of comparison with that of the material she was about to index. The author believes that indexers and publishers should not be bound by old school policies and need to come up with their own set of rules and decisions.
