- Abstract
The article studies the day/night phosphorylation of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase (PEPC) in leaves of C3 monocots plant species. It informs that immunoblot analysis of isolated chloroplasts of Monochoria vaginalis was performed that identified PEPC protein inside the chloroplast in addition to cytosolic isozymes. The study found an interrelationship between chloroplastic PEPC and the nocturnal phosphorylation of cytosolic isozymes.
