- Abstract
The article focuses on the novel oral anticoagulants (OACs) which are recommended to prevent stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). It mentions that warfarin is the most common oral vitamin K antagonists (VKA) which is used to reduce ischemic stroke patients in nonvalvualr AF patients while acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) is the most widely used antiplatelet agent for the said condition. It states that new OAC agents are effective and can be administer to prevent stroke in AF patient.
