- Abstract
The article presents a medical case reflecting dentist T. Rogers's obsession with perfection and details related to the treatment of dental patients. Patient Karen Burnes had consulted Rogers for restorative work. Rogers and his team worked performed a series of complicated procedures with Karen for nearly 6 months. Rogers noticed slight change in Karen's tooth shade and became overwhelmed by feelings of anger and humiliation. Rogers was surprised how he could have made such a mistake which was minor in relation to the complexity of the multiple procedures he had successfully done. Karen also became anxious about Roger's quality of work. It mentions Rogers as an inwardly focused perfectionist (IFP). It suggests a better way that Rogers could have used in dealing with the situation.
