- Title
Software Proposal Suffers Blow.
- Abstract
This article informs that a proposed U.S. accreditation programme for ISO-9000 series registrations of software-intensive companies has been dealt a serious blow. An American National Standards Institute committee has recommended that the Registrar Accreditation Board (RAB) not pursue the Software Quality System Registration (SOSR) proposal which would essentially tailor ISO-9000 registration and auditor training to software-intensive environments. The SOSR proposal is intended as a U.S. response to Great Britain's TickIT programme-referring to the British "tick" or checkmark and an acronym for information technology.
