- Abstract
The article presents information on effect of pores in powder materials on the formation of titanium and chromium diffusion coatings. The porosity of powder materials has an ambiguous effect on the processes of formation of diffusion coatings. In the present work the authors have determined the dominant action of different factors on the kinetics of formation of titanium and chromium coatings in diffusion saturation in liquid-metal melts. In the formation of the chromium diffusion layer the pores in the surface layer are cured. A poreless diffusion layer forms in the first two hours of the saturation process.
